Once the Hostellerie Sarrasine was a farm in the Bresse area; it is now a peacefull hotel with large and confortable rooms, perfect to relax after a long journey, in front of a wood fire or in the heated outdoor swimmingpool. Close to Mâcon, the South Gate of Burgundy, and highways A6 and A40, it is a very convenient stop over half way between north and south of France. The BRESSE is known for its very special Chicken, with blue legs, white feathers, and red cockscomb: the french flag colours… but also for its Saracen chemineys (cheminée Sarrasine). Traditional half-timbered Bressane farms, often fitted with a Saracen cheminey, were mostly built between the 17th and the 18th century with clay, stones and wood.
Our Restaurant serves a traditional french cuisine, prepared mostly with local and/or organic products, such as: Chicken of Bresse, Filet of Charolais beef, Burgundy snails…, and nice local Maconnais, Beaujolais and Burgundy wines.
