Monastère royal de Brou
 | The Royal Monstery of Brou in Bourg-en-Bresse, built in the 16th century by Margaret of Austria, regent of the Netherlands, is the masterpiece she commissioned to perpetuate her glory and commemorate her love for her husband, Philibert the Handsome, Duke of Savoy. The church is a jewel of the Flamboyant Gothic style and is richly ornamented with many examples of 16th century Flemish sculpture: tombs, an altarpiece, statues and choir stalls. In Margaret’s apartments, multimedia tools and objets d’art bring alive the figure of this European princess. Walk through ten centuries of paintings and artworks in the museum and then complete your visit with a look at the 3 monumental cloisters with their upper galleries. Rates
